Recently, our master generalist JD did an Olaplex treatment for our stylist Dragan. As Dragan gets his naturally dark hair bleached regularly, it felt damaged and dry. Olaplex is the perfect treatment to repair the broken bonds of your hair and make it look healthy, soft and shiny again. Olaplex can be used on every type and color of hair and is, especially in the summer, a treatment you should definitely try. In order to give you an idea of the process, JD and Dragan recorded a demonstration with us.
Step 1: The hair is washed without the use of any styling products, the only purpose is getting it wet. After washing, the hair is dried with a towel.
Step 2: JD mixes Olaplex No. 1 with a bit of water and applies it to every part of Dragan’s hair. A comb helps to spread the mixture throughout. After applying Olaplex No. 1 properly, it’s time to wait. Over a period of just five minutes, Olaplex No. 1 starts to rebuild broken disulfide bonds and begins the process of repairing and protecting from further damage.
Step 3: After five minutes, JD starts applying Olaplex No. 2 on Dragan’s hair and massages it into the scalp. The bond multiplier continues rebuilding broken disulfide bonds and ensures healthier, shinier, and stronger hair. To get great results, Olaplex No. 2 has to stay in your hair for around 20 minutes.
Step 4: After 20 minutes of allowing Olaplex No. 2 to do its job, JD rinses out all the residues. To clean Dragan’s hair he uses Kerastase’s Blond Absolu shampoo which is specially designed for blond hair. Depending on your hair color or hair structure, your stylist might choose another shampoo. After rinsing out the shampoo, JD applies a conditioner for the finishing touches. He also chooses a product from Kerastase’s Blond Absolu line.
Step 5: That’s it! The only thing left for you now is to enjoy your repaired hair. You’ll see a difference immediately. Your hair will be stronger, healthier and shinier than before.
