How do I protect my colored hair from damage?
Coloring your hair can damage your hair significantly if you don’t book a professional service or don’t take care of your locks properly. In general, you shouldn’t color your hair too often as most of the colorations, especially the ones you can use at home, consist of a lot of chemicals that are very harsh to your hair. Salon Ziba is an exclusive L’Oreal salon and offers different types of colorations. Together with your stylist, you’ll find the product that matches your type of hair best and causes less damage. Additionally, we offer treatments, such as Olaplex, that help in most of the cases to cause no damage at all and even repair your locks. After a color, you have to take care of your colored hair yourself. For this, Colin recommends using a hair oil, such as Kérastase Elixir Ultime. The oil moisturizes your hair properly and provides all the care your colored locks need.
How often should I wash my colored hair?
Colin tells us there is no rule on how often to wash colored hair. It is really personal how fast your hair gets dirty. If you have hair that gets dirty really fast, you have to wash it every day. In this case, it is important to have a good daily shampoo that protects your color from fading away.
How long does a coloring process take at the salon?
How long a coloring process takes at a salon depends on the style and the additional treatments you choose. In general, Colin recommend not to rush and enjoy the experience. How often should I refresh my color?
Most of Colin’s clients refresh their color a few times a year. In between those appointments, you can ask for a gloss in order to bring some extra shine back to your hair color. In every case you can keep your hair color fresh with the right shampoo and conditioner. Special products for colored hair help you to stop your color from fading away and keep your locks soft, healthy and shiny.
Which hair products to use for colored hair?
Using the right hair care for your hair color is essential if you want to keep your color beautiful on long term. For blondes, Colin recommends the Kérastase Blonde Absolu product line. He especially loves the Bain Ultra Violet shampoo in combination with Shu Uemura Essence Absolue. Redheads should use a sulfate-free product line like Shu Uemura’s Color Lustre. For brunettes a daily oil like Kérastase Elixir Ultime or Shu Uemura Essence Absolue.
